In celebration of West Palm Beach’s 125 anniversary, The Square is reflecting on the incredible history of the Harriet Himmel Theater. While the city has certainly changed around it, the theater has always served as a community and cultural center since its creation in 1926.

The theater, host to many beautiful weddings and events until 2020, is home to the Christ Fellowship congregation (until January 2024). In October 2019, participants in the A21 March for Freedom, a global walk to raised awareness about human trafficking, meet at the theater, and in September 2019, student activities gathered at the theater to kick off their climate strike. The Kretzer Piano Music Foundation’s popular Music for the Mind concert series called the theater home for 13 straight years.
